Simpson Chess Sets

Most people would think that the American animated television series the Simpsons which is the about a very dysfunctional working class family and the game of chess which has been heralded as the "game of Kings" would have little in common. They couldn't be wrong. Those characters from that zany dysfunctional family now are stars of their very own chess set. The Simpson chess set is a novelty chess set that is perfect for those people who enjoy watching the television show and playing the game of chess.

The game comes with a chess set and features Homer and Marge Simpson as the king and Queen. The pawns are 8 miniature Bart Simpsons and little Maggie on a horse serves as the Knight. Lisa is the bishop and Grandpa the rook. Whether or not these chess characters appear a little brighter than the television counterparts all depends with how well you have mastered the game of chess.

While this game makes a great conversation piece and just may get that younger member of the family a little more interested in learning how to play chess, taking this game to a chess tournament just might raise a few eyebrows. It will however, make a great gift for people who like out of the ordinary gifts, love the Simpson's and enjoy playing the game of Kings.

While I am not sure how good a choice it was to have 8 Bart Simpson's running around a chess board this set is sure to instill a little light hearted merriment into a game that is often taken way too seriously.
